Level 1 is basically just the starting line. It means they measured their emissions and got them verified. The real test is how they move toward Level 4 and 5 where actual absolute reductions and neutrality come into play.
Agreed. Measuring is easy. I want to see the actual energy procurement strategy. Are they just buying offsets or are they installing onsite solar and upgrading the local grid connection to handle renewables?
Airports are massive energy sinks. If they are serious about carbon management, they need to look at HVAC retrofits and terminal efficiency. A verified footprint is a good first step, but the hardware changes are where the cost and impact are.
