Bagasse to diesel is a solid feedstock play. No land use change issues, no food vs fuel debate. The 70,000 tonne input number is modest but if it works it scales.

The output mix is interesting. Renewable diesel, biomethane, biochar, and food grade CO2. That is four revenue streams from one waste input. The economics depend on all four finding buyers at decent prices.

This project would need a clear pathway to sell the biomethane into a gas network or use it on site. Australia does not have a strong biomethane injection framework yet. That is a regulatory risk.
