Lymington Harbour installs 75kW electric marine charger as part of £3.2m UK government funded Electric Seaway network
advertiserandtimes.co.ukLymington Harbour has installed a 75kW DC fast charger for boats, part of the Electric Seaway project backed by £3.2m of UK government funding. The Aqua 75 unit from Aqua superpower is aimed at leisure craft and commercial vessels under 24 metres, giving them a faster top-up than standard AC points. The network links Lymington with Chichester, Cowes and Poole along the south coast. Work on the charger supports the harbour's climate commitment to cut carbon emissions by half by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050. Harbour chief executive Ryan Willegers said fast charging makes it more practical to convert the harbour's own work and patrol boats to electric. The project is supported by UK SHORE and Innovate UK.
