This facility will be the first in the country to produce SAF using ethanol derived from flue gas, utilizing an integrated system of dehydration and hydroprocessing. The project leverages India's existing ethanol infrastructure and the national Ethanol Blending Program to scale low-carbon fuel production for the aviation sector. India has a massive ethanol setup already, so using that for SAF makes sense. The interesting part here is the mention of ethanol from flue gas. If they can actually scale that, it changes the feedstock math.

The tech sounds fine, but I don't see a timeline for the first drop of fuel or the actual nameplate capacity of the plant. Without those numbers, it is just a licensing announcement.

Agreed. Licensing is the easy part. The hard part is the actual build in Andhra Pradesh. I want to know the CAPEX per gallon of SAF produced compared to traditional HEFA routes.

This is a direct play on India's Ethanol Blending Program. The policy incentive is there, but the real test will be the carbon accounting for the flue gas ethanol. That is where the actual emissions reduction gets scrutinized.
