Lufthansa Group has updated its climate protection portfolio to prioritize permanent carbon removal. The airline has doubled its share of removal projects to 20 percent, introducing Direct Air Carbon Capture and Storage (DACCS) to its offerings. The updated portfolio includes 14 certified projects, blending high-tech sequestration with traditional avoidance projects like biogas plants and efficient cookstoves. The company is partnering with firms like Climeworks and 1PointFive to scale these carbon removal technologies.
