LTi Vessco wins contract to build CCS vessel for Heidelberg Materials UK cement carbon capture project

LTi Vessco has been awarded a contract by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to manufacture a CCS regenerator vessel for Heidelberg Materials' Padeswood Carbon Capture and Storage project in North Wales. The vessel will be built at LTi Vessco's South Wales facility and is a key component in capturing CO2 emissions from cement production before they are stored permanently under the seabed. The Padeswood CCS project aims to be the UK's first carbon capture plant serving the cement industry. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is providing the capture technology, with Worley acting as lead designer and principal contractor. LTi Vessco's managing director said the contract supports skills development and investment in the region while demonstrating UK manufacturing's role in the low-carbon transition. The contract strengthens LTi Vessco's position in the energy transition sector, adding to its portfolio of high-integrity process equipment for industrial decarbonization projects.
