LS Cable and System has opened a new recycling plant in Gunsan, South Korea, to produce eco-friendly copper from scrap wires. This process significantly reduces the carbon footprint of copper production by up to 80% compared to traditional mining methods. Beyond recycled copper, the company introduced CuFlake, a new copper foil material designed to lower energy consumption and manufacturing costs. LS Cable plans to expand this circular supply chain to the U.S. and European markets to meet rising demand for low-carbon electrification materials.
