Low Carbon has proposed the West Oxfordshire Energy Park, a 500 MW solar PV project with battery storage on land near Langford and Little Faringdon. The site is north-west of Lechlade and south-west of Carterton. The developer says the project could generate enough electricity for about 145,000 UK homes and avoid up to 154,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. Because the capacity exceeds 100 MW, the project will go through the Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project process and needs a Development Consent Order from the Planning Inspectorate. Low Carbon recently received consent for its Beacon Fen Energy Park in August 2026. Public consultation is planned for early 2027, with design work still in early stages.
