Durham University and Newcastle University have partnered with the ORE Catapult to launch the Low Carbon North: Sustainable Futures initiative. This program aims to connect students with the offshore wind and subsea industries in North East England to improve graduate retention and fill critical skill gaps in the green economy. Running from May 2026 to April 2027, the project uses employer led group projects and networking events to show students that low carbon careers require more than just STEM degrees, including roles in finance, project management, and communications.
