Louisiana community group hosts meeting on carbon capture, data center, and methanol plant projects
aol.comSave My Louisiana, a nonprofit group, is hosting a public meeting in Pineville to discuss several industrial projects proposed for Central Louisiana. Topics include SunGas Renewable's Beaver Lake Renewable Energy methanol facility, planned carbon capture projects, and a new AI data center expected to bring 200 jobs to Rapides Parish. The meeting follows a state DEQ air quality hearing that many residents said they did not know about in time to attend. The group is calling on elected officials to attend and answer questions from the community. The meeting is set for 6 p.m. Thursday at the Pineville Convention Center. The discussion highlights growing local concerns about the environmental and economic impacts of large-scale industrial and carbon capture projects in the region.
