Six energy startups in Louisiana have received nearly $1.2 million in funding through the Future Use of Energy in Louisiana (FUEL) Proof-of-Concept Fund. The grants target early stage companies working on carbon capture and storage, green hydrogen from biomass, and the production of chemicals using carbon dioxide as a feedstock. Projects include the development of machine learning software for subsurface carbon storage and specialized valves for cryogenic hydrogen transport. These awards aim to move these technologies from the development phase to commercial market entry within one year.
