Lotte Group and KAIST have completed a new joint R&D center on the KAIST campus in Daejeon, South Korea. The six-story, 4,298 square meter building is funded by a 10 billion won donation from Lotte and will house research on biofuels, green hydrogen, and batteries. The center connects KAIST's early-stage research with Lotte's commercialization work in one place. The facility follows Lotte Chemical's existing carbon-neutral research center with KAIST, which has produced 15 patent cases in carbon neutrality. Lotte also plans to add a design center on campus this year.
