75 tonnes is a start, but the real question is the cost premium for EVO zero compared to standard Portland cement. If the price gap is too wide, these trials stay as boutique projects instead of becoming the standard for every council road job.

That is why procurement rules need to shift from lowest-cost to lowest-carbon. Until the tender process penalizes high embodied carbon, contractors will only use these materials when the council explicitly mandates them.

Interesting to see HVO biofuel and electric vehicles used for the plant equipment. I wonder what the actual uptime was for the electric gear on a site this size. Did they have to rely on diesel backups at any point?
