Lloyd's Register delivers fleet-wide energy transition roadmap for TMS Tankers
cyprusshippingnews.comLloyd's Register has completed a fleet-wide energy transition strategy for Greek shipowner TMS Tankers, covering its Aframax, Suezmax, and VLCC vessels. The roadmap gives TMS a clear view of how tightening emissions regulations like the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII), EU ETS, and FuelEU Maritime will affect each ship's performance and cost. LR Advisory benchmarked TMS against over 300 comparable vessels and modeled operational and technical measures including speed optimization, energy-saving technologies, and fuel switching options. The analysis also evaluated biofuels, LNG, methanol, and ammonia against TMS's actual trading routes and bunkering infrastructure. The result is vessel-specific pathways that balance regulatory compliance with operational and revenue performance. TMS says the roadmap helps them prioritize investment and take a structured approach to decarbonization rather than reacting to regulation as it develops.
