Liverpool Bay CCS lease signed for HyNet cluster, Morgan offshore wind tender reopened
offshore-mag.comThe Crown Estate has signed a seabed lease for Eni's Liverpool Bay CCS project, allowing it to reuse over 75 miles of pipelines and three offshore platforms to store CO2 from industrial emitters in the HyNet cluster. Phase 1 targets 4.5 million metric tons of storage per year, with first injection planned for 2028. Separately, the Crown Estate launched a tender for a new developer to build the 1.5 GW Morgan offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea, after EnBW and Jera Nex bp pulled out. The auction uses a phased 20-year payment structure to reduce development risk. Rights could be awarded by end of 2026.
