Liquid Sunshine and Johnson Matthey to Build Biomethanol Plant in China
biomassmagazine.comGuangdong Liquid Sunshine is partnering with Johnson Matthey to develop a commercial biomethanol plant in Tiandong County, Guangxi. The first phase of the project aims for an annual production capacity of 75,000 metric tons of biomethanol produced from gasified biomass waste. A planned second phase would integrate electrolytic hydrogen with captured carbon dioxide from the first plant to produce e-methanol. This expansion aims to meet international e-fuel mandates, including those in Europe, while reducing the need for additional biomass feedstock.
