Guangdong Liquid Sunshine is partnering with Johnson Matthey to build a commercial biomethanol plant in Tiandong County, Guangxi. The first phase aims for an annual capacity of 75,000 tonnes, utilizing biomass gasification to produce low-carbon fuel for the marine industry. A planned second phase will integrate electrolytic hydrogen and captured carbon dioxide to produce e-methanol. This expansion allows the site to increase output without requiring additional biomass feedstock, aligning with China's 2026-2030 green transition goals.
