Lincolnshire County Council has granted planning permission for a new anaerobic digestion facility near Spalding. The plant, proposed by Naylors Farms, will process over 100,000 tonnes of food waste annually to produce renewable gas, electricity, and bio-fertilizer. Developers estimate the project will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 25,000 tonnes per year. The facility aims to support the local agricultural sector by providing a domestic source of fertilizer and reducing reliance on imports.
