LG Uplus and IBCT Partner to Help South Korean Manufacturers Join Catena-X for EU Supply Chain Data Compliance
finance.biggo.comLG Uplus and data space specialist IBCT have launched a partnership to help South Korean manufacturers join Catena-X, the European supply chain data ecosystem used by major automakers like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen. The service covers everything from membership onboarding to cloud infrastructure and security, with IBCT as the sole South Korean partner of Cofinity-X, the commercial operator of Catena-X. The goal is to lower entry barriers for small and mid-sized enterprises facing EU rules on carbon emissions reporting and digital product passports. European supply chain regulations are tightening, and companies that fail to meet data-sharing requirements risk losing access to key markets. The partnership bundles Catena-X membership, system deployment, and operations, so manufacturers don't have to build their own compliance infrastructure. This is especially relevant for companies that need to report Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data or create Digital Product Passports (DPP). Early adopters may gain export advantages as more EU rules come into effect.
