LG Electronics' MultiVi commercial air conditioner won the 41st week Jang Young-sil Award. The system uses LG's DQ1 AI chip to run data collection, learning, and inference on site. It predicts when each unit will reach target temperature, controls cooling and heating accordingly, and uses a microphone in the outdoor unit to adjust noise based on surrounding conditions. LG says the combination saves up to 25% of energy compared with conventional operation. For office buildings, hospitals, and factories, commercial HVAC is a major electricity load. Better load management matters for carbon neutrality because it cuts demand without waiting for grid upgrades. LG says MultiVi is expanding into North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and plans to use the platform to manage whole-building energy use.
