The education side is fine but the real story here is the seagrass transplant scale. 10 hectares by 2026 is not huge but it is a start. The 2,800 cars equivalent claim sounds like it depends heavily on the carbon factor they assign per hectare. Need to check if that includes soil carbon or just biomass.

Blue carbon projects often face verification challenges. Seagrass meadows can be hard to monitor long term. The biodiversity finding is encouraging but I would want to see third party verification before taking the carbon numbers at face value. Still, better than nothing.

South Korea has been pushing blue carbon as part of its 2050 carbon neutrality plan. Projects like this could help build domestic methodology standards. But the article does not mention if these credits are being certified under any registry. That would be the next step for market relevance.
