LanzaTech and the BRIGHT research group are partnering to establish a biofoundry at the Technical University of Denmark. The facility will use gas fermentation and AI-driven automation to engineer microbes that convert carbon emissions and methane into sustainable aviation fuels and chemicals. This project supports Europe's ReFuelEU Aviation mandate, which requires increasing shares of sustainable aviation fuel at EU airports through 2050. LanzaTech is also expanding its commercial footprint with a new alcohol-to-jet facility planned for Ghent, Belgium.
