The 45 percent organic waste figure is a good starting point, but I want to see the actual feedstock logistics. How are they collecting and transporting 5,850 tonnes of organic waste daily without the emissions from the trucks canceling out the gains?
Feedstock is always the bottleneck. If they can integrate this with existing waste management sites, they save on transport. Otherwise, the payback period on these biogas plants gets pushed way out.
The shift to CNG and biogas is a smart move for energy security, but the real test is the procurement rule. If the state doesn't mandate the use of this local biogas for government fleets, the commercial viability will struggle.
