Indian engineering group Larsen & Toubro is in talks with Japan's Itochu to sell a minority stake in L&T Energy GreenTech, the subsidiary handling its clean energy business. The two companies are already working together on a 300,000 tonne per year green ammonia project at Kandla, Gujarat. Itochu would take output from the plant to supply bunkering operations in Singapore and other locations, supporting early adoption of green ammonia as a marine fuel. L&T has not disclosed the size of the stake being discussed. Bringing in an equity partner matters because large green hydrogen and ammonia projects need long-term offtake and outside capital to reach financial close. L&T says it may also offer minority stakes in other green ammonia projects to international partners. The Kandla plant is a central piece of its strategy to export green hydrogen derivatives, though the article does not cover power supply or grid interconnection for the project.
