KT is implementing a direct Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to supply renewable energy to Tokyo Electron Korea. The deal starts with 15 MW of capacity for sites in Hwaseong and is expected to scale up to 50 MW to support the manufacturer's carbon neutrality goals. This move highlights the growing pressure on the semiconductor supply chain to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As major clients like Samsung and SK hynix demand greener operations, equipment providers are increasingly turning to direct PPAs to secure stable, low carbon power.
