Korea Zinc commits to recycling and clean energy at WEF decarbonization forum

Korea Zinc announced it will focus on resource recycling and stable critical mineral supply chains as part of its low-carbon transition. The company made the pledge at a World Economic Forum decarbonization event in Seoul, co-hosted with the Global Green Growth Institute. Senior executive Kim Gu-hoe said the firm supplies zinc, copper, silver, antimony, and indium for batteries, renewables, and power infrastructure while recycling critical minerals through advanced technologies. Kim also pointed out that limited access to renewable energy and high upfront costs for clean energy projects remain major barriers. He called for coordinated government policy support and infrastructure expansion to scale low-carbon industrial ecosystems. Korea Zinc has over 50 years of metallurgical experience and is building a resource recycling business to recover valuable metals.
