KOCCA wins Korea ESG governance award for content industry carbon calculators and SME support
gamemeca.comSouth Korea's Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) has won the governance grand prize at the 5th Korea ESG Innovation Policy Awards, extending its winning streak in the event to five years. The award recognizes KOCCA's work on K-Content ESG LEADERS, a public private initiative launched in November with major music and broadcasting companies, plus game firms Krafton and Pearl Abyss. The agency has developed industry-specific carbon emission calculators with CJ ENM for broadcasting and video and with SM Entertainment for performances and events. It has also added ESG plus-point indicators to its content support projects and plans to publish a best practice guide so smaller content firms can adopt ESG practices without building everything from scratch. KOCCA President Kim Yun-ji said the award reflects progress in turning ESG management into a shared industry task. The follow-up worth watching is whether the calculators and support program changes actually move emissions and not just award criteria.
