KN Holdings starts building 304 MW floating solar plant in Vietnam with battery storage | carboncredit.io

KN Holdings has broken ground on the KN Srepok 3 floating solar power plant in Dak Lak province, central Vietnam. The project has a total investment of $291 million and an installed capacity of 304 MW. It includes a battery energy storage system, a 500-kV substation, and transmission infrastructure. Commercial operations are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027. The plant will sit on 354 hectares of the Srepok 3 hydropower reservoir surface, plus six hectares of adjacent land. The company expects the project to contribute about $7.6 million annually to the local budget after commissioning and create hundreds of jobs during construction and operation. Dak Lak province has been allocated 91 renewable energy projects totaling 7.8 GW for development between 2025 and 2030 under Vietnam's adjusted Power Development Plan VIII. The region averages 2,000 to 2,500 hours of sunshine per year, supporting its estimated solar potential of about 2,081 MW.
