Kerala is moving ahead with green hydrogen after commissioning South India's first green hydrogen filling station near Kochi and introducing hydrogen buses at Cochin International Airport. The state plans to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, twenty years ahead of India's national target, and has set up a Hydrogen Valley Innovation Cluster Foundation under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. Several large projects are under review, including an Rs 11,025 crore proposal from Enfinity Global, an Rs 8,763 crore project from HLC Green, and a ReNew project near the Vizhinjam port. A state green hydrogen policy expected soon will determine which projects get final approval. The transport minister also announced plans to bring hydrogen buses into public transit, following a visit to Delhi's hydrogen bus fleet.
