Kenya has introduced a national strategy to decarbonize its building sector through a new program running from 2026 to 2028. The initiative, led by the Kenya Green Building Society and the State Department of Public Works, aims to transition the country from climate planning to the actual implementation of zero-emissions building standards. The program focuses on updating building codes, improving procurement systems, and attracting green investment to create climate-resilient infrastructure. By aligning policy with market readiness, Kenya intends to reduce emissions from one of its fastest-growing pollution sources.
