A new mining venture in Kazakhstan, Kaz Resources Inc., aims to develop the Severniy Katpar tungsten project. With estimated resources of 1.4 million tonnes, this single site could significantly reduce global reliance on Chinese tungsten supplies, which currently dominate the market. Tungsten is a critical mineral for aerospace, semiconductors, and electric vehicle manufacturing. As China tightens export controls and global prices surge, diversifying the supply chain becomes vital for industrial security and the transition to low-carbon technologies.
