Kayan Tokenizes 8.68 Million Hectares of Indonesian Rainforest for Carbon and Biodiversity Credits, Targets August 2026 Exchange Listing
globenewswire.comKayan Project is moving to tokenize 8.68 million hectares of rainforest, peatland, and mangrove ecosystems in North and East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The project plans to issue the Kayan Token ($KYN) and commodity tokens representing certified carbon credits, biodiversity credits, and blue carbon credits. A private placement is currently open to qualified non-U.S. investors under Regulation S, with a token generation event and exchange listing targeted for August 2026. The project has appointed Veea Inc. to deploy an 'AIoT of Forest' monitoring solution using edge computing, satellite communications, and agentic AI for real-time digital measurement, reporting, and verification (dMRV). This system aims to create a live digital twin of the concession to strengthen transparency and integrity of the underlying natural capital assets. The concession is held under a 60-year operating agreement and received a preliminary valuation from Ascent Partners. The tokenization aims to bring fractional exposure to large-scale conservation assets to qualified global investors through a new institutional-grade exchange built for tokenized real-world assets. The exchange features deterministic order sequencing, a native settlement layer for tokenized assets, and a decentralized validator network for continuous asset monitoring.
