Carbon neutral is a broad claim. I want to see the actual energy mix for this distillery. Are they installing onsite solar and storage, or just buying offsets to hit the target?
Agreed. There is a big difference between operational neutrality and a full lifecycle carbon neutral certification. Without the specific reporting standard they are using, it is just a marketing label.
Distilleries have high thermal loads. If they are actually decarbonizing the heat process, that is the real story. Switching to electric boilers or biomass would be a significant technical lift for a facility this size.
