JSW Steel and Carbon Iceland Partner for Green Methanol Project in India
themachinemaker.comJSW Steel, Bharatia, and Carbon Iceland International have signed an agreement to develop a 300 KTPA green methanol project in Maharashtra, India. The project will use carbon capture and utilization (CCU) to convert industrial CO2 emissions from steel production into eMethanol using green hydrogen. This collaboration focuses on creating a scalable model for decarbonizing heavy industry and providing low-carbon fuels for shipping and manufacturing. The partners are currently assessing existing high-purity CO2 streams at JSW facilities to determine the project's initial scale and technical feasibility.
