The Ministry of Environment in Jordan and the Global Green Growth Institute held an introductory workshop in Amman on carbon projects and carbon finance, under the Carbon Transaction Facility Readiness Project. The event focused on how project ideas can turn into carbon revenue and support Jordan's climate commitments under NDC 3.0. Sessions covered Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, including Jordan-Norway cooperation under Article 6.2, and the practical steps for developing carbon projects: eligibility, documenting emission reductions, monitoring, verification, and credit issuance. Participants also looked at financing options, development costs, timelines, and risks. The workshop is part of a broader effort to build Jordan's national carbon market framework and prepare projects to access international carbon finance. A group exercise walked participants through an illustrative project from idea to potential revenue.
