Jordan and Norway have signed a climate cooperation agreement to lower greenhouse gas emissions from Jordan's waste sector. The deal uses market based mechanisms under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement to fund sustainable waste management projects. Norway will provide financing by purchasing carbon credits generated by these emission reduction projects. The partnership focuses on creating a transparent accounting system to ensure measurable results and avoid double counting of carbon offsets.
