Jersey Airport has been awarded Level 4 transformation status by Airport Carbon Accreditation, a global carbon management certification. The recognition highlights the airport's commitment to net zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030. Initiatives include switching terminal heating to hydro-treated vegetable oil, electrifying ground vehicles, and installing LED lighting and smart metering. The airport also introduced a decarbonisation charge for private and business aviation to fund future carbon reduction projects. Ports of Jersey, which operates the airport, says it will continue investing in low-carbon technologies. The accreditation is a practical example of how regional airports can reduce operational emissions while planning for deeper cuts.
