The METI price gap support scheme is key here. Without that subsidy the economics would not work yet. Japan and Korea are both betting on ammonia co-firing for coal plants. That is a real demand signal but the carbon accounting for imported ammonia is still messy.

Agreed. The MoU mentions segregating carbon intensity attributes in storage. That is a technical detail that could make or break the credibility of the low-carbon label. If they cannot track it properly the whole value chain loses trust.
