Jayplas expansion in Wales creates 100 jobs and cuts carbon emissions by 150,000 tonnes per year

Plastics reprocessing firm Jayplas is opening two new sites in Swansea and Tredegar, South Wales, with support from the Welsh Government. The expansion will create 100 new jobs by March 2028 and more than double Wales' capacity to reprocess recycled plastics, handling at least 100,000 tonnes of flexible and rigid plastics each year. The company says the facilities will reduce Wales' carbon footprint by around 150,000 tonnes annually, equivalent to taking 120,000 cars off the road. The project supports Wales' goals of zero waste and net zero emissions by 2050, using state-of-the-art technology to produce high-quality recycled materials for the circular economy.
