Iván Duque to Chair ICC and Carbon Measures Advisory Group for Global Product-Level Carbon Accounting
newswire.co.krFormer Colombian President Iván Duque will chair the new Technical Expert Panel Advisory Group for the ICC and Carbon Measures product-level carbon accounting initiative. The group will feed external policy and business perspectives into the work of the Technical Expert Panel, which is developing a globally applicable carbon accounting framework. Duque led Colombia from 2018 to 2022, where his administration set a 51% emissions cut target by 2030 and a 2050 carbon neutrality goal, later written into the country's 2021 Climate Action Law. Carbon Measures describes itself as a coalition pushing for ledger-based carbon accounting and product-level carbon intensity policies. The goal is to give companies and products accurate, verifiable emissions data that can support capital allocation and market-based decarbonization. The advisory group's other members have not been named yet.
