ITC is expanding its sustainability efforts with a goal to put 1 million acres under biodiversity conservation by 2030. The company is currently focusing on mangrove restoration and sea turtle protection in Andhra Pradesh, leveraging nature based solutions to build coastal resilience against climate change. Mangroves are highlighted as critical blue carbon ecosystems, capable of storing significantly more carbon per acre than tropical forests. By partnering with local communities and government bodies, the initiative aims to protect vulnerable species and support the livelihoods of fishing communities.
