Isometric's Ready for CBAM Service Helps Exporters Meet EU Carbon Border Check Deadlines
carbonherald.comIsometric has launched a new service called Ready for CBAM to help exporters prepare verified emissions data for the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. The service combines AI-based document review with expert support to help companies create monitoring plans and emissions reports that meet EU verification standards. With the first CBAM declarations due by September 30, 2027, exporters need to act now to avoid default value penalties that increase from 10% to 30% by 2028. The service is already in use by cement producer Cementir, which says it has made the documentation process faster and simpler. Isometric's platform also supports exporters during independent verification. This is part of a broader trend where carbon accounting and verification services are becoming critical for trade competitiveness. Exporters who rely on default values will face higher costs, so having accurate actual emissions data is key.
