Isometric Raises $40M to Expand AI Certification for Carbon Removal and Industrial Markets
carbonherald.comIsometric, the London-based certifier of carbon removal credits, has raised $40 million in Series A funding led by AVP (formerly AXA Venture Partners) to extend its AI-powered certification platform beyond carbon markets into broader industrial sectors. The company's Certify platform uses AI agents to cross-check sensor data, satellite imagery, supply chain records, and lab results, flagging inconsistencies and compressing a months-long verification process into hours. Isometric has already been contracted to certify over 16 million tonnes of carbon removal for clients including Microsoft, JPMorganChase, and Boeing. The funding will target what Isometric estimates as a $350 billion global certification market covering regulatory compliance, safety standards, and sustainability requirements. The goal is to replace fragmented registries with a unified platform and public registry. Existing investors Lowercarbon Capital and Plural participated alongside new backers like Kleiner Perkins chairman John Doerr. Isometric's expansion signals growing demand for faster, more rigorous verification in carbon markets and industrial decarbonization.
