Isometric launches Ready for CBAM service to help cement exporters prepare verified emissions data
cemnet.comIsometric has launched Ready for CBAM, a service that helps cement exporters get plant level emissions data ready for independent verification under the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. The service covers monitoring plans, emissions reports, data checks, and reviews of submissions against EU requirements. It also helps exporters respond to findings from accredited verifiers, though Isometric does not perform the formal verification itself. Turkish producer Cementir is already using the service. According to Argus calculations from earlier in 2026, verified data could make a large difference in CBAM costs. For Turkish cement reporting emissions of 0.82t CO2/t, the estimated charge was about EUR15/t, versus almost EUR83/t if the applicable default value were used. Those figures were based on the EU ETS price at the time and are not fixed charges. EU importers must submit their first annual CBAM declarations, covering 2026 imports, by 30 September 2027. That gives exporters a limited window to build the monitoring and reporting systems needed to avoid default value charges.
