Carbon registry Isometric has partnered with insurance broker Howden to launch an open request for proposals for corresponding adjustment insurance. The insurance covers the risk that a host country reverses its authorization of a carbon removal certificate, which would make that certificate ineligible under CORSIA. Approved insurers will be listed on the Isometric Registry, giving project developers a clear path to bring CORSIA-eligible credits to market. Developers that secure an approved policy can use it instead of contributing to Isometric's buffer pool. Isometric also published a standardized letter of authorization template to simplify the corresponding adjustment process. The move comes as airlines are expected to need roughly 500 million tons of carbon removals per year by 2050 to meet net zero targets.
