Landowners and agricultural groups in Iowa are clashing over Summit Carbon Solutions' proposal to modify its carbon capture pipeline. The new plan removes routes from eight counties and reduces the project by 200 miles, but thousands of land parcels remain affected. While agricultural associations argue that the project is vital for the economic survival of ethanol plants and corn farmers, opponents are challenging the use of eminent domain for a private project. The Iowa Utilities Commission is currently reviewing the filing to determine if the modifications will be approved.
