Infinium announced it is supplying eNaphtha made from captured carbon emissions to On for the production of the world's first EVA midsole made at commercial scale. The eNaphtha is produced using Infinium's electrochemistry process that converts waste CO2 into a drop-in replacement for fossil-based naphtha. On will use this material in its CleanCloud footwear line. This marks a step toward commercializing carbon capture products in consumer goods. The process avoids extracting new fossil fuels and locks carbon into durable materials. Infinium's technology has been in development for years and is now reaching production scale with partners in the footwear industry. For carbon markets, this represents a real application of captured CO2 in a high-volume product. The challenge will be scaling production and keeping costs competitive with conventional naphtha. If successful, it could open pathways for similar materials in other industries.
