Infinium introduced mSAF, a sustainable aviation fuel platform that converts methane streams such as renewable natural gas, biogas, and flare gas into low-carbon jet fuel. The company says this complements its existing eSAF business, which uses CO2 as a feedstock, and allows projects to be developed at more locations where methane is already aggregated. The move acknowledges that aviation fuel demand will require multiple feedstock pathways. By sharing the same synthesis technology with its eSAF line, Infinium hopes to speed up certification and scale-up. This is one more signal that SAF producers are diversifying inputs beyond power-to-liquid routes.
