Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) has issued POJK No. 10/2026, updating the rules for the country's carbon exchange to align with the revised national carbon pricing framework under Presidential Regulation No. 110/2025. The regulation replaces the previous POJK No. 14/2023 and introduces a new Carbon Unit Registry System (SRUK) to replace the older SRN PPI system. All carbon units traded on the exchange must now be registered in SRUK, and the rules also expand eligible unit types and allow foreign carbon units not yet in SRUK to be traded under certain conditions. The regulation includes consumer protection requirements for all trading participants and mandates that exchange operators submit reports to relevant ministries. A transitional period of up to three months allows continued trading of units recorded in existing ministry systems until SRUK is fully operational. The changes align Indonesia's carbon exchange with the updated national carbon pricing framework under Presidential Regulation No. 110/2025, replacing the earlier 2021 framework. This is a concrete step toward tightening market infrastructure and traceability in Indonesia's carbon market.
