Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) is revising carbon exchange regulations to integrate blockchain technology and the national Carbon Unit Registry System (SRUK). These updates aim to prevent double counting and speed up the issuance of carbon units to attract more domestic and international investors. Currently, transaction volumes on the Indonesian carbon market remain low. The OJK believes that moving toward a decentralized registry and implementing trading systems similar to stock exchanges will increase transparency and market activity.
